SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

This application is for the Junior Achievement of Brazoria County Scholarship and the
Albert P Beutel Scholarship. JA’s main goal is to educate and inspire young people to
value free enterprise, business, and economic fundamentals to improve the quality of
their lives. It is our intent to have one recipient (Current Junior) from each public high
school in Brazoria County, provided a minimum number of students apply from each
school. Recipients will be notified on or before August 18, 2014 and will be asked to
attend, with their parents, the Brazoria County Business Hall of Fame dinner scheduled
on September 18, 2014 to receive their scholarship. One recipient may be asked to read
his/her essay at this dinner.

Free Enterprise; Yesterday, Today & Me
Describe how the free enterprise system has influenced you and/or your
family, go back as many generations as possible. What person or event, if
any, has most influenced your belief in the free enterprise system? How has
the free enterprise system benefited your community? Which teacher, if
any, in your school has done the most to increase your appreciation of the
value of free enterprise, business, and economic fundamentals?
