Hamlet Research Project
Much has been written about Hamlet. The play lends itself to a scholarly paper. Choose a group # below and research the
topics listed for your group. Ask questions and answer all questions with scholarly research (no internet/must have author
and publication). Use the research to write a 7-12pg. (12 font, double-spaced with 1” margins)paper or two with a thesis
which includes how your specific element/topic functions to create the meaning of the work as a whole. You must identify a
theme and support it with evidence from text and research. Copy all of your articles and incorporate the info. in the paper(s)
using MLA format (see DiYanni). The paper must include a Works Cited page as well. You must also include direct quotes
from the play to support your thesis (see how to quote Shakespeare in DiYanni too). The info. in this paper(s) will be
presented orally in class so make your presentation professional, creative, insightful, educational, informative and
entertaining-Don’t bore us by reading the paper to us-teach us the info. because you are the experts on those topics. I will
choose the groups at random for this project (MUN groups separate because of Georgetown).
