Athena Scholar Athlete Award Application
The WPFC Athena Scholar Athlete Award recognizes the outstanding
achievements among the WPFC high school seniors in the areas of
academic excellence, community service and involvement and athletic
achievement and sportsmanship.
At WPFC, we strive to create
champions on the field and in life. To that end, the club encourages all
of the athletes to make a difference whether it is on the pitch, in the
classroom or in the community. This award honors those players that
best exemplify those traits.
Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:
A graduating high school senior that has participated in three (3)
consecutive years at WPFC, documented community service for each
of the three years (10 hours minimum per year), high school
transcripts (grades 9-12) with a minimum GPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale)
and a written essay.

application and must be submitted as directed:

grades.
Typed essay.
Please mail completed applications to: WPFC, attn: Athena Scholar
Athlete Award, PO Box 111643 Tacoma, WA 98411. Applications
must be post marked by May 15th. Applicants will be notified of
acceptance of their application and award winners will be recognized at
the Rainier Challenge soccer tournament in June, 2013.
The
scholarship award will be paid directly towards the recipient’s school
tuition and fees upon enrollment. Funds will be paid directly to the
academic institution no later than October 1st. Scholarships not used
within two (2) years will revert back into the Athena Award fund.
