The Kathryn Anne Lanz Memorial Scholarship is an annual scholarship, established in 2005, at her request. Brief Description of the Qualifications This scholarship is presented annually to a graduating senior who demonstrates academic desires in journalism and/or literature or a desire to pursue a teaching career in those fields. The applicant must show a passion for the written and/or spoken word as reflected in school course work and involvement in writing, particularly creative writing, as part of the co-curricular and extra-curricular program. Lastly, the applicant must exhibit the qualities of integrity, leadership and responsibility, which were values Kate possessed and sought in others.
