Please contact us if you are not receiving email messages and wish to be added to the email contact list. 2. Examinations Summer Series 2010 The Examiners’ Reports for Summer 2010 will shortly be available on this website. Centres are advised to take careful note of the comments in the Examiners’ Reports for each of the units. These aim to provide important and constructive comment on the performance of candidates. Any enquiries after results should be made through the examinations officer in the centre. Unit data is available via the secure website and should provide important diagnostic analysis at both centre and candidate level. Your examinations officer will be able to access this site. Past papers, mark schemes and earlier reports can still be found on the secure site. Coursework Submission 2011 Two issues have again created difficulties for the process of moderation for WD2 and WD4 in 2011. 1. The regulators’ decision to standardise submission of coursework materials and documents to 15 May 2011. This applies to all awarding bodies 2. The early date for the WD1 examination on Thursday 19 May 2011. This inevitably leads to a large degree of overlap for WJEC coursework moderators, many of whom are also examiners for other units. The regulators’ set date has proved impossible to move so we are again seeking your help to facilitate moderation before the examining series starts. In order for the moderators to carry out their work effectively, it would be of great help if you could submit your WD2 and WD4 sample material by 1 May. Coursework Forms 2011 Please note that for WD2 and WD4, assessment sheets will only be available on the website and can be downloaded by clicking on ‘show all documents’ on the right hand side of the subject page. Please do not use photocopied forms from the specification. Many centres overlooked this requirement this year. Please take care to ensure that you select the correct forms. Unit WD2 WDP - Individual Candidate Record Sheet (marked out of 5, 10 and 10 for each article) AS1 - Assessment of Portfolio There were a number of rubric infringements by individual candidates this year where the guidelines were not followed: Portfolios should only include two newspaper articles. Each article should be linked to a Key Idea in Theme 1. The Comparative essay should be on a topic from Theme 2 only. It is the responsibility of the centre to ensure that credit is not given to candidates who do not follow the guidelines. In future, if this occurs, the complete submission will be requested and individual candidate marks amended. Unit WD4 The Individual Report has replaced the Investigation for WD4 and forms are available on this website. This has to be in a report format. Please follow the guidance given on the website. https://www.wjec.co.uk/uploads/publications/9149.doc WDIR - Individual Record Sheet (marked out of 60 ) A1 – Proposals for Individual Report Titles (not a mandatory requirement) A2 – Assessment of the Individual Report 5 7.
