Incomplete applications will not be considered.

PART III: Extracurricular Activities and Shooting Sports
Extracurricular activities, clubs, associations, offices held, awards received, interests. Include your activities in
shooting sports, Second Amendment or other issues regarding constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms, or other
related activities in which you have participated (attach a separate sheet if needed):
PART IV: Essay
The Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights states: “A well regulated militia being necessary to the
security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Attach to this application an original, double-spaced, typed (in 12-point font) essay on the following topic.
Your essay must be no longer than 500 words in length. Credit to appropriate sources, and/or bibliography,
must be included when applicable. The club members judging your essay will expect correct spelling and
grammar, clear and concise sentence structure, appropriate vocabulary, and unique ideas and points. Your
points and conclusions should be backed up by quotations or other evidence. Your essay should include a
direct, to-the-point introduction and smooth transitions throughout. It should not contain unsubstantiated
opinions, excessive wordiness, or "random babble."
What does personal responsibility in a free society as related to the Second Amendment to the US
Constitution mean to me?
OR
Compare and contrast government efforts to ban large soft drinks to banning private ownership of large
capacity magazines.
PART V: Personal Statement
Attach to this application a statement explaining why you are a good candidate for this scholarship. Please state
why you should be selected, citing examples when appropriate. Your statement should be typed in 12-point
font, and be 50 words or less in length.
PART VI: Transcripts & Acceptance Letter
Attach an official copy of your most recent transcript. You may also attach any evaluations or transcripts from
your latest two academic school years and any grades from the present year.
Attach a copy of your letter of acceptance from the school you are planning to attend.
PART VII: Recommendations
Please attach two letters of recommendation. One is to be an academic recommendation from a teacher,
educator, or other school administrator; the other a personal recommendation from any of the following: DPRC
club member, coach, member of the clergy, employer or business owner, Scout or other youth group leader,
community leader, or outstanding member of the community. Do not send recommendations from family
members. Recommendations should be limited to 150 words or less.
