A summary of 20 countries' statutory requirements on inspection, testing & examination of lifting equipments.

Out of the 20 countries, 14 countries's OSH legislations require equipment owners to carry out initial test & examination prior first
use, and, regular inspection or examinations.

Macau, Ireland and Fuji require regular examination every 14 months.

Solomon Islands requires regular examination every 6 months.

United States of America requires an initial thorough inspection to comply with manufacturer's specifications and
limitations.

The People Republic of China and Taiwan require an initial testing and examination of the equipment and thereafter
every 2 years by a Government examination centre.

United Kingdom, Singapore, Canada, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Fuji, India and Solomon Islands do not specifically require
weekly inspection.
