“How to Avoid Being Deceived About the Coming of Christ”
A.
Will the world end? How?
a. Nuclear war? Starvation population explosion? Asteroid or comet collision?
b. The Bible describes the spectacular 2nd coming return of Jesus.
B.
The certainty of Christ’s 2nd coming, the most frequently mentioned topic of the New Testament (1
out of every 25 verses!, over 318 texts). Titus 2:13
a. John 3:16, John 14:1-3 and 2 Timothy 4:7 two of the most important Bible texts for every
Bible believing Christian.
b. Jesus detailed account:
i. Matt. 24:4,5 and 2 Corinthians 11:13,14 - false christs and false prophets;
Satan’s attempt to impersonate Christ
ii. Can’t rely on miracles; devils perform miracles Rev 16:14; Rev 13:14; 2 Cor
11:13,14;
iii. Must rely on the Bible, the Bible only! Isaiah 8:20; Matt 7:21; 2 Tim 2:15; Ps

The Bible the only safe guide for avoiding deception and correctly identifying the signs unique to

a. 2nd coming VISIBLE! Everyone will see Him. Matt. 24:27; Rev 1:7
b. His 2nd coming similar to his ascension to heaven after His death. Acts 1:9-11; Luke 21;27
c. Not coming back alone; His holy angels with Him. Matt. 25:31; Matt 24:31
d. 2nd coming will be AUDIBLE. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17
e. Both the righteous dead and the righteous living will meet Him in the air. 1 Thessalonians
4:17.
f. The saved will be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:51-53, Philippians 3:20,21
g. There will be a great earthquake. Rev. 6:14-18
h. Jesus returns unexpectedly; a surprise to the lost. Matt. 24:30; Luke 21:36.
