ONE CHILD POLICY ESSAY

 You will type a persuasive essay based on the content that you have learned in your one
child policy packet and the video, “China’s Lost Girls.”
 Your essay will be exactly five paragraphs long, including an introductory and conclusion
paragraph, and three body paragraphs, each body paragraph devoted to one reason to support
your argument for or against the one child policy.
 Be honest in your response. There is no right or wrong answer, but you must prove your
point with evidence from the articles and video. You MUST pick a side and stick to it!
 You must use a minimum of 3-5 quotes and/or statistics from the six articles you were
given. APA in-text citations must be used for these quotes/statistics.
 Your essay will NOT be done in the first person (no “I think,” “I believe,” etc.). Also, avoid
the second person (“you”).
 Your response must be typed: 12 point font; double spaced; Times New Roman. NO
EXCEPTIONS! Do not quadruple space between paragraphs.
 Please have a title page. There is no need for personal information on the first page of the
essay.

An APA source list must be attached to your paper. No source list means no grade.
 Extra credit is available if you choose to do additional research on your own. You would
need to include a copy of the article(s) you find with your paper as well as cite them on your
APA source list.
