1st Semester British and Western bonus opportunity
For this bonus assignment, you’ll watch a movie that relates in some way one of the pieces of literature
we have read this semester. Then, type up a 5 paragraph essay analyzing the connections between the
movie and the literature – similarities, differences, things you observed, etc.
You must use literary elements to talk about similarities/differences such as theme, characters, setting,
etc.
You must include specific details from the unit and movie to support your thesis statement. Use the
guidelines of good writing and typical essay writing for this bonus assignment.

Due date: Wednesday, January 8th to turnitin.com
Possible bonus points: 2-3% at most overall percentage at most. So, if you have a B- percentage at the end of
semester, and you do a solid job on the essay, then your overall grade would go to the lowest B percentage.
However, the overall amount is tied to the quality of the uploaded essay. If this assignment falls short in
expectations and follow through, it will be worth less overall, and potentially not raise your grade a ½ grade. As
well, if you have a low D (60-63%), then the most you could gain would be a higher D. However, if you have a high
D (64-66%), you could bump up to a D+ potentially.
Note: There is no late folder for this assignment! There is no built in extra day!
Either it is uploaded by the 8th in the on-time folder, or it’s not (no points)!
NO EXCEPTIONS!
