After reading Antigone, you now have the opportunity to write about it. Sophocles is known for his skill in
creating Greek Tragedies. Every tragedy must have a tragic hero, in an essay you must discuss who is the
tragic hero in this play: Antigone or Creon?
Fill out the following chart to help you come to a decision about the tragic hero:

Format- 5 paragraph essay:
Intro paragraph:
Include an attention-getting sentence. It should also contain your thesis
statement and the name of the author and story title.
3 body paragraphs:
Each body paragraph should begin with a topic sentence. Include examples
from the text to prove why Antigone or Creon is the tragic hero. You must
have at least one citation per paragraph from the play (from the textbook)
that supports your opinion.
Conclusion:
Restate the thesis, bring your essay to an end and you might want to briefly
discuss why you didn’t choose the other character.
