The Ancient river valleys affected us in many ways. Two of the river valleys that affected us were the Nile river valley and the Indus River valley. They affected development in nations and also promoted cultural diffusion. They helped with the calendar, Plumbing system and also written language.
The Nile River Valley affected the development of nations in many different ways. One way was the irrigation system. The irrigation system helped controlled flooding making it better to farm. The plow was invented it helped the land be easier to farm. A major invention was the calendar. The calendar helped predict when the flooding would occur and also helped knowing when harvest season was around. Another major thing was a written language. Written language made it easier to communicate with others and was also good for record keeping. The Nile River also promoted cultural diffusion. One way it promoted cultural diffusion was through written language. Written language helped pass down traditions, ideas and helped people communicate better.
Another way they promoted cultural diffusion was medicine. Medicine helped people battle with sicknesses. A major cultural diffusion was math/geometry. It gave the ability to create numerical system and be able to make new math.
The Indus River Valley was another valley that affected development of nations.
One major way it affected development was plumbing and sewage system. This was important because you were able to shower, and use the bathroom inside your own house rather then having to leave. They also developed grid and planned cities. This was good because of organization and helped lay out the cities better. Another way it affected development was written language, Written language was a good way to communicate between people, and keep records of past history, The Indus River also promoted cultural diffusion. One way it promoted cultural diffusion was standard measurements. Standard measurements helped plan out cities all over. Another way it promoted cultural diffusion was written language. Written language helped people keep traditions, holidays and stories going on from generation. It also helped people communication.
As you can see the river valleys helped develop our nations with great ideas like the calendar, irrigation system, sewage system and so on. The valleys also helped promote cultural diffusion from its writing systems to the great math created and used.
