Assignment: Choose a novel (over 150 pages) that you read independently this term and create a paper bag
visual aid and a written report. You will then present your book using your paper bag as a visual aid.
Paper Bag: 50 points possible
 Front: title and author
 Back: setting and historical context
 Sides: 1. central conflicts
2. characters and two adjectives for each
 Inside: four items that represent significant events or characters in the book
The Written Report: 100 points possible (typed, 12 pt font, Times New Roman, double-spaced)
 Part One: summary of the plot (don’t give away the ending)
 Part Two: description of characters (include examples from the book to support assertions)
 Part Three: details and analysis of setting (time and place)
 Part Four: description of central conflicts
 Part Five: explanation of four symbolic items in the bag
