Writing… Students will write a paragraph and an essay with a sharp, distinct focus. Students will be able to identify topic, task and audience. Students will write with controlled and/or subtle organization SWBAT Revise based on focus, content, and organization SWBAT Use editing marks Specific Writing tasks: Students will be able to rewrite a part of the novel from a different point of view (focus on capitalization and punctuation (comma, apostrophe and quotations). Students will write a properly formatted friendly letter (focus on capitalization, comma usage, content (details)). Students will write a paragraph about a person they admire organization, content, focus, punctuation, capitalization) Students will write a 5-paragraph essay (at the conclusion of the novel – several choices will be given). Students will be expected to use examples from text to support their inferences. Students will write a descriptive piece (focus on word choice and figurative language). (looking at using technology) Students will participate in a blog to discuss issues related to TWM (culture, materialism, sensitivity, etc.) Technology: Creating a visual representation of them and its connection to your life ???
