Essay/Project Assignment Theology III Due September 15, 2011 Write a paper incorporating the three references listed below. The objective of this paper is to examine the moral lessons we can learn from Scriptures and the example set by Mother Teresa. 1. The Greatest Commandment (Mt. 22:34-40) 2. The Judgment of the Nations (Mt. 25:34-46) 3. a. “Christ is hidden under the suffering appearances of anyone who is hungry, naked, homeless or dying,” and b. “Jesus is the one we take care of, visit, clothe, feed, and comfort every time we do this to the poorest of the poor, to the sick, to the dying to the lepers, and to the ones who suffer from AIDS.” Bl. Teresa of Calcutta Requirements: Essay and In-class Presentation. Specific Points: 1. The paper should be at least two pages, typed, using correct grammar, correct spelling, properly punctuated, and in paragraph form. In other words, grammar counts. The paper should have an Introduction stating your thesis, Body of the paper, and Conclusion with your observations of morality. Do not restate the Scriptures, only a brief summary will be allowed. Believe me, I read the book and do not need a verbatim account of what it is about. 2. The paper must be typed, 12-point, with one inch margins, double-spaced (but not in between paragraphs). No hand written work will be accepted, so don’t come in telling me of printer problems handing me a jump drive. 3. Oral presentation – Each paper will be presented to the class. The presentation is not a “reading” of your paper; it is a talk about how a moral value was expressed in your analyses of the References. Your appearance counts in any presentation in class; that is adherence to Holy Spirit Dress Code Policy. The vocal quality of the talk should be audible and distinct and posture should be appropriate for a classroom presentation. The content of your presentation should be clear and to the point. The time should be 4-5 minutes. 4. Applicability of moral value to your life – the subject matter of the paper must deal with a moral value/lesson you learned and how the Scriptures and Mother Teresa dealt with that subject. Deduction for Late Papers: 10% will be deducted from the total grade each day for papers turned in after September 15, 2011.
