Decimals and Percentages
for 1st to 6th class teachers
(and highly suitable for support teachers !!)
PDST is delighted to offer 2 practical and
interactive workshops
WORKSHOP 1 will introduce and develop
the understanding of fractions using practical
resources. We will show you a range of concrete
resources to develop your pupils' conceptual
understanding of fractions starting with pictorial
and symbolic methods before moving onto the
abstract.
WORKSHOP 2 will explore hands-on activities that
can be used to develop the concepts of place value,
decimals and percentages with your pupils.

In both workshops you will see how skilful teacher questioning can really help children to
communicate their mathematical thinking while developing reasoning and problem
solving skills as they engage in fun practical activities.
