The set of the multiples
of 3 is written:

The multiples of three so not end. This is called an infinite set. Three dots are written
after the multiples to show that the list is not complete.
The multiples of a number can be divided by that number.

M4 = {4 ; 8 ; 12 ; 16 ; 20 ; 24 ; 28 ; 32 ; …}
Compare the sets of the multiples of 3
and 4.
Some of the multiples are in both sets –
these multiples are common multiples.
The LOWEST COMMON MULTIPLE (LCM) of 3 and 4 is 12.
