ACCUPLACER - Math Test - Study Resources
The math section of the Accuplacer placement test will start students off in the Arithmetic section. If
students score a 55 or higher in the Arithmetic section they will automatically be prompted into the
Elementary Algebra section. Students who do not score a 55 or higher on the Arithmetic section will not
be prompted into the elementary algebra section. If you are not prompted into the Elementary Algebra
section your course placement will be determined using only your Arithmetic score(s).

Other Math Resources MASSIVE OPEN ONLINE COURSE (MOOC) for INTRODUCTORY ALGEBRA REVIEW (IAR)
Wake Technical Community has developed a Massive Open Online Course, or MOOC, for
Introductory Algebra Review (IAR), with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
While this course was not designed for the ACCUPLACER math tests, it may help students
enhance their math skills. This course is free and open to non-WTCC students.
Khan Academy
Khan Academy is a not-for-profit with the goal of changing education for the better by providing
a free world-class education for anyone anywhere. Students can make use Khan Academy’s
extensive library of content, including interactive challenges, assessments, and videos from any
computer with access to the web. This site offers conceptual videos and worked examples for
many mathematical subject areas.
