The oldest of six children to the late Esteban and Mercedes (Jaime') Sanchez. Angie died on September 01, 2013 at the West Florida Medical Center in Pensacola, Florida at the age of 76. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert (Bob) Hall Anderson III of Pensacola; her children June Carter and her husband Tim of Greenbrier, Arkansas; Laura Pehrson and her husband Dan, of Pearland, Texas; Dana Elise Anderson of Pensacola; and Robert Steven Anderson (Bubba) of Pensacola. Angie is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is survived by 3 sisters and one brother, all from Hollister, California, and was preceded in death by one brother. Born in Schenectady, he is the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Schliff) Burke. Bernie proudly served our country as a cryptologist in The United States Navy during The Korean War and Cold War Conflict. After serving, Bernie earned a Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, and later a Master's degree from The College of St. Rose. Bernie was employed by the South Colonie Central School District as an Industrial Arts Teacher at Lisha Kill and Sand Creek Middle School for 30 years before retiring in 1991. Bernie enjoyed golf, darts, poker, horseracing, games of chance, and was a master of crossword puzzles. He was also a longtime member of the Rotterdam Elks, The Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association, The Michigan State University Alumni Association, and a founding member of the M.E.O.T.A.S.H. Poker Club. Bernie will be remembered by those who loved him for his contagious smile, woodworking skills, and strict adherence to his 4:00 O'clock happy hour. USMC BACK TO INDEX William P. Dwyer, Cpl. U.S.M.C., passed away some time in June / July 2013 at the Veterans’ Hospital in Bronx, New York. William lived in Highland, New York where he suffered a massive heart attack. He was transported to the Bronx VA hospital where he passed away. Bill was stationed at Futenma, Okinawa; Tori Station, Japan; and Guam, Mariana Islands. William was cremated and his ashes were taken to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for scattering by two of his brothers. 9 RICHARD J. ELLIS BACK TO INDEX Richard J. Ellis, 77, a Red Hook resident, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012 at The Thompson House in Rhinebeck. Born on December 9, 1934, in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late William and Anne (Haskins) Ellis. A 38 year Yonkers resident, Richard was always very proud of his Bronx heritage and was an avid NY Yankees fan. He served in the United States Navy as a Naval Cryptologist from 1952 to1955 and was a member of the US Naval Crypto logic Veterans Association. Richard married Veronica Tully on September 19, 1959 at Our Lady of Mercy Church in the Bronx and she survives at home in Red Hook. For many years he worked as a communications engineer with Phibro Energy, Inc in Greenwich, CT, previously he also worked at Verizon and MCI in Manhattan. Richard was a longtime member of St. Christopher's Church in Red Hook and was a life member of Charles Bajart, Jr. American Legion Post 1122 in Yonkers, NY. He took great pride and joy in making doll houses for his grandchildren, and even donated his creations to be raffled off for charity. Richard was also an active volunteer at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. He was born January 6, 1936 at Boston, MA. He enlisted in the Naval Reserve in 1953 and served in the Naval Reserve for three years. He then served in the Naval Security Group for twenty years and retired in 1976. He was stationed many places around the world, including USS NEWMAN K. Perry, Security Detail at President Eisenhauer's Summer White House, Maryland, Massachusetts, California, Germany, Turkey, Rhode Island, Maine, Guam, Philippines, Florida, Alaska, Illinois, and Azores. During his naval service he was awarded Good Conduct Medals (5), Naval Unit Commendations (2), National Defense Service Medal (2) NSG Meritorious Service Medal and USAF Unit Commendation Medal. Bob enjoyed friends, gardening, locksmithing, and Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association- National reunions and New England Chapter mini-reunions. John and Victoria Fremer Jaworski. He was a member of the class of 1956 of Saints Cyril and Methodius Grammar School, Brooklyn, N.Y., a member of the class of 1959 of Eastern District High School, Brooklyn, he also attended American Institute of Banking, New York, N.Y., the United States Naval Communications Training Center, Pensacola, Fla., studying Advanced Communications, and High Speed Telegraphy, and Classified Cryptologic Code Operations, he attended the United States Naval Language Translation Center, training in Russian Cyrillic Code and Chinese Kana-Code, also the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Alaska studying Advanced Naval Communications and Mathematics Training, and the United States Department of State Foreign Service Institute; Washington, DC, studying Diplomatic Cryptologic Communications Training. From 1959-1961 Tom worked for the International Bank of America in New York City as a High Speed Teletype Operator. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy from 1961-1966. His duty stations included the United States Naval Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Ill., the United States Naval Communications Training Center, Pensacola, Fla., the United States Naval Security Group Activity, Winter Harbor, Maine and the United States Naval Communications Station Adak Island, Alaska. Tom was a communicant of St. Peter's Church Great Barrington, where he also served as Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Tom was a member of many organizations, they are the Massachusetts Associated Press Association where he served as President from 1999 to present, a member of the Radio and Television News Directors Association, member of the American Radio Relay League, member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers, the Boy Scouts of America where he was a Scoutmaster for 30 in Great Barrington, a member of the Quarter Century Wireless Association, the Society of wireless Pioneers, the Veteran Wireless Operators Association, "the Old-Old Timers-Club", a member of the United States Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association, the American Legion Post #127, Great Barrington, a member of the Knights of Columbus Mount Everett Council, Great Barrington, the Massachusetts Justice of the Peace Association, the Northern Berkshire Amateur Radio Club and he was also a member of the Bishop Conaty Assembly Fourth Degree. Tom received a state department position as Communications Operator, under his state appointment Tom served as a civilian employee with the Foreign Service, and requested assignment in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Among the many honors and licenses Tom received and held were a First Class Commercial Radio Telephone Operators License, a Second Class Commercial Radio Telegraph Operators License, a Amateur Radio Operators License, Extra Class..call sign WA1MJE.. he was licensed as a Ham Radio Operator since 1960, a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers as a Certified Broadcast Technologist, a Certified Communications Technician for 13 the Personal Communications Industry Association, a holder of the Silver Beaver for service to Youth Boy Scouts of America in 1975, a holder of the Vigil Honor, Order of the Arrow Boy Scouts of America in 1972, he was a Certified examiner of Amateur Radio Operator Licenses by the American Radio Relay League, he was currently serving as Council Chancellor of the Knights of Columbus. Tom enjoyed traveling especially to his beloved Walt Disney Vacations. Born in Hartford CT the son of Karsten Kristiansen and Mildred Goldie. He lived in Acushnet MA most of his life and is survived by his wife Anna L. (Audette) Kristiansen. He taught each of them life's most important teachings, how to love, respect and cherish family and friends. He was our moral compass, mentor, confidant and embodied the spirit of patriotism. (Gagnier) Sweeter, 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2008 surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Bruce M. Sweeter, Sr., with whom she shared forty-two years of marriage. Mrs. Sweeter had been employed with Hub Manufacturing for many years before working as a housekeeper at Beverly Hospital and Hunt Hospital for fifteen years. She was also employed by Heritage Assisted Living in Danvers. Mrs. Sweeter enjoyed sitting on her front porch, reading the paper and talking with neighbors who would walk by. She also enjoyed home decorating and trips to Atlantic City. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who loved sharing time with her family. A happy and loving woman, she touched every life she came across. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Bruce M.
