Tomorrow River Education Association Scholarship

The Tomorrow River Education Association (TREA) is offering two scholarships to graduating Amherst High School seniors. Students planning to pursue any postsecondary program of two or more years in length are eligible for the “Open” scholarship of $250. Students planning to pursue a post-secondary program of two or more years in length for a career in education are eligible for the “Education” scholarship of $300. The scholarship funds are disbursed to help defray the costs of tuition and books only.

The recommendation will be made by the Tomorrow River Education Association

Scholarship Committee. The following criteria will be considered:

-cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or above

-extra-curricular involvement

-community service

-enrollment in a post-secondary program of 2 years or more

-intent to pursue a career in education (Education Scholarship only)

The scholarship will be paid to the recipient after evidence of successful completion of the first semester and re-enrollment for the second semester of post-secondary schooling. A transcript or grade sheet, along with a second semester schedule, must be submitted to the TREA (care of AHS).

The Education Scholarship will be renewable at a rate of $150 per year for up to three years. The recipient will be required to supply verification of re-enrollment in postsecondary schooling in the field of education.

Complete the attached form and return it to Mrs. Swanson by ____May 6 th , 2015__.
