QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Current Montana Specialist Certificate
2. Endorsement in school psychology
3. One year successful experience as a school psychologist
preferred

GENERAL DUTIES:
Evaluates pupils referred as potential candidates for Special Education program and present a report
to the local education authority on pupils he/she has evaluated. Test may include intelligence,
achievement, personality, and perceptual motor test.

Current Montana Specialist Certificate
Endorsement in school psychology.
One year successful experience as a school psychologist preferred
Asses difficulties of referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices.
Administer tests and recommend placement for all identified students by way of an Evaluation
Team staffing.
Help identify within the school all types of disabled students within the rules and regulations of
special education for the State of Montana.
Maintains case records on all referred students.
Conducts individual, group or facilitative therapy for children whose diagnosed problems would
benefit from behavior modification.
Confers with teachers and parents whenever necessary.
Consults on special educational needs of emotionally disturbed, learning disabled and other
students as assigned.
Attends all Evaluation team meetings on placement of individual students who are disabled,
emotionally disturbed or learning disabled.
Interprets the school psychological services to teachers and parents.
Prepares and submits required reports on special education children and special education
programs, when requested.
Cooperates with personnel of community health and social welfare agencies.
Attends staff, professional and interagency meetings.
Assists with in-service training of school personnel.
Conducts appropriate research.
Keeps abreast of new developments in the field.
Assists with Child Find as required by the Director of Special Education.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively
present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid
geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
situations.
