South West OLM eLearning Update May 2012
New Content
The following courses available from May:
 FallSafe - Preventing Falls in Hospitals from Royal College of Physicians
 8 new Image Interpretation courses from e-Learning for Healthcare
 Being Open from CLU.
 Changes to Safeguarding children content in line with The Intercollegiate Document
 10 new Image Interpretation courses
 1 new radiotherapy course
 2 new e4Equipment courses
 1 new Harm Free Care course
 2 new Smoking Cessation courses
All CLU content was migrated to a new server on 29th May. Trusts must therefore add the new
server address (corelearning.skillsforhealth.org.uk / IP address: 164.177.139.54) to firewall
exceptions along with the other URLs. If this URL is not added, you will risk the experience of
problems when users access CLU content.
OLM eLearning Service
UN1585 released on 10th May to advise of downtime for 12 hours on Friday 18th May from 6pm.
UN1588 released on 23rd May to advise of downtime for 2 hours on Sunday 27th May.
Changes to OLM Function
The changes below were included from 7th May 2012. Refer to RN162 for detail.
Fixes to the Automatic User Creation Process
Previously when an applicants 'Offer Accepted' was in the future a User record was not
automatically created. User accounts will now be created as at the effective date of applicant being
set to of Offer Accepted. Email Address was not being associated to new user accounts where it
was available on the person record. This will now happen. User Person Type was not appearing in
the notification being generated. This has been fixed.
Performance issue with OLM view object ResDefVO under STC URPs
A performance improvement has been made to the Resources page in Learning Administration.
Under Shared Training Centre URPs only, performance issues were experienced when clicking on
the names of Internal Trainers in order to see the details. This was traced to a poorly performing
query which has now been fixed.
Manage Class LOV defaults to Class Chat rather than Maximum Attendees & Class Status
Following R13.0.0.0, on the OLM Class Form, the Manage Class LOV defaults to Class Chat
rather than Maximum Attendees & Class Status. This will revert to Maximum Attendees & Class
Status.

Known Error Log
Additions to the above impacting OLM include:
 OLM e-mails for Course Cancelled status on Planned Class being sent continually until Class
Date occurs.
 The learning path completion date column isn’t updating with the completion date of the last
course played, even though the completion date has been updated correctly under the
Enrolment section.
 OLM Bulk enrolments are taking an extended amount of time to update.
 Users are unable to view learner enrolment details from a closed self service notification and
when viewing the enrolment that has been approved successfully, the following unexpected
error message appears on the Closed approval notification: 'transactionStepId could not be
recovered'.
 NHS Education Learning Montioring Analysis taking a long time to run under Learning
Administration URP.
 Internet user accounts for eLearning are not being terminated correctly. When the Production
user account is end dated the eLearning internet account should be terminated. If the
Production user account end dated is in the future, the user will be able to access Prodution
until that date, whereas the internet eLearning account will be terminated immediately.
 If you complete an e-learning course and are awarded a competency as a result of it, moving
the course to the history after x number of days, the competency end-date will be extended as
though you have completed the course when you clicked on the move history icon.
For example:
*Complete course on the 04-APR-2012
*Competency end date will be 04-APR-2013
*Move to history on the 11-APR-2012
*Competency end-date changed to 11-APR-2013
