Sales Of CharterOak Acoustic Devices Flagship Model SA538 Pass 100
ENFIELD, CT – (Jan 9, 2006) - CharterOak Acoustic Devices today announced that they have surpassed the
milestone of the 100th SA538 Condenser Microphone sold. The microphone sold through New York pro audio dealer,
Alto Music. To mark this significant milestone, CharterOak created a special gold logo for the body of the 100th built
SA538 (ser. #0100). The logo reveals the brass material used in the construction of each CharterOak mic body,
rather than the usual nickel finish, which will become a collector’s item. This announcement comes after a year of
aggressive growth, including the addition of 10 dealers around the US and Europe and the release of 2 new
models.
Alto Music was the one of the first dealers to recognize the quality and value
in CharterOak products adding CharterOak to its product line, so it’s only
natural Alto would sell #100. At the time, CharterOak was virtually unknown in
the industry but had a handful of enthusiastic beta testers and direct
customers. It was through one of those beta testers’ praises, who’s also a longterm customer of Alto Music that convinced Alto to take a chance, to listen to
the product, and put the shiny black SA538 on display in their store. “Charter

CharterOak will only produce two microphones per day as each one is hand
assembled using premium parts from a number of different countries, and
goes through a 7-day burn in. Currently, there are 4 models in the CharterOak product line and each model will be
commemorated when they reach milestone 100.
