Introduction:
Myths:
Ancient civilizations were never civilized, the only exception the Israelites.
Egyptians, Romans, the Celts and ancient Americans were brutal if you were a
slave, serf or prisoner, they cannot be called civilizations if being civilized is part of
that description.
Global warming now called Climate Change! The only proven fact about manmade climate change is a very few people are getting very, very rich.
Criminals should not be in prison, this may explain why are politicians have
body guards!
Islam is a peaceful religion!
The BBC is neutral, has integrity and is honest! When watched it is the Devil’s
lantern!
The NHS is professional, has mercy and does not murder thousands!
Governments work for the people!
The above are examples of myths people reject, yet when it comes to the existence
of God and special creation people too often deny both or make God a god that
cannot be known – how wrong they are.
We will now look at Creation vrs evolution.
There are two major contrasting explanations as to how the physical universe
came into existence. Of course only one of them can be true. The Bible speaks of
the universe as having been created by God in only six days.
Whereas,
evolutionists claim the universe evolved into what it is now over a long period of
time. Evolutionists cannot even agree among themselves as to how long the
amoeba, the one-celled, according to their claim, evolved into all the multi-celled
life, including man. The amoeba is a single-celled organism found in water and in
damp soul on land, and a parasite of other organisms.
The Bible speaks of God creating the universe and life here upon earth in only
six literal days (Genesis 1; Ex. 20:11).
The Scripture reveals this was
accomplished by the omnipotent God by commanding the cosmos into existence.

Heb. 11:3, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by
the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things
which do appear.”
We learn from the Scripture that all three persons of the Godhead were involved
in the creation. The very first verse in the Bible declares: “In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth” (Gen. 1:1). The Hebrew word translated
“God” in that verse is: Elohiym, which is plural. Yet, the verb “created” is
singular. We are taught in English grammar that a subject and its verb must be in
agreement in number. That is whether singular or plural in number. This is letting
us know that God is both singular and plural in nature. God is one in essence, but
plural in persons. Hence, the Bible speaks of the Godhead, made-up of the
Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ (His Son), and the Holy Spirit.
Evolutionists fall into two major divisions – the organic and the theistic. The
organic evolutionists uphold a materialistic theory, which amounts to atheism.
Those who claim to be theistic in their concept of evolution believe that there is a
god that established evolution. Others who profess to be theistic evolutionists
believe God created the universe and then let it develop on its own.
Discussion:
I. HAS THE CONCEPT OF EVOLUTION AS TAUGHT BY CHARLES DARWIN
BEEN PROVEN OR IS IT A MERE THEORY?
A. All evidence, regardless of what it pertains to, is a priori or
empirical. A priori is based strictly on reasoning; whereas,
empirical relies upon experimentation.
1. The definition of theory is an explanation based upon speculation,
not upon proven fact by reliable experimentation.
2. If something is true then there is evidence for it. It is a fact that
can be proven by way of observation or testing experimentally.
B. The Bible is the inspired Word of God. Science is a search for
facts in the physical realm.
1. Scientific theories which conflict with the Bible, in time, have been
proven to be false. Examples include:
a. In the past a scientific theory claimed the earth was flat. It was
proven to be wrong. Yet, before the Son of God came into the
world inspired writers spoke of the earth being a circle.
Isa. 40:22, “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the
inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens
as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:”

Prov. 8:27, “When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a
compass upon the face of the depth:”
b. Just as man thought that the earth was flat he also though that
a giant Atlas or maybe it was on the back of a giant turtle. It
has definitely been proved that the earth is not held up by
anything.
Job 26:7, “He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth
the earth upon nothing.”
II. EVOLUTIONISTS HAVE DIFFERENT THEORIES OF HOW THE UNIVERSE
CAME INTO EXISTENCE.
A. In all of their theories the organic evolutionists assumes that
matter and energy in some form has always existed.
1. In the ultimate sense there is a great difference in whether the
cosmos was created or made from matter that already existed. To
create is to cause to come into being; whereas, to make something
is to bring into existence by shaping or changing material which
already existed.
B. As already pointed out in the introduction there are two major
divisions among evolutionists. They are those who contend for
organic evolution and others who uphold theistic evolution. At
this time let us consider the concept of theistic evolution.
1. Theistic evolutionists contend that God or a god created matter and
then let it evolve on its own. There is no way that the concept of
evolution and the Bible can be harmonized. The first chapter of
Genesis reveals that each kind of life was created separately and
independently of all other kinds of life.
a. Evolutionists claim life began in the water; whereas, the Bible
reveals it began on land on the third day. The first life was
vegetation, plants, and trees (Gen. 1:9-13). It wasn’t until the
fifth day that God made life which live in water and fowls of the
air (Gen. 1:20-23). On the sixth day Animals and creeping
creatures were created (Gen. 1:24-25).
2. Man did not evolve from the lower species of life. After creating all
other types of life God created man on the sixth day.
Gen. 1:26-28, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in

his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female
created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be
fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over
every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
3. In chapter two of Genesis the Scripture provides more detail of the
creation of man.
Gen. 2:7, “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
a. From that passage we learn that the Lord made man’s physical
body from the dust of the ground in which He had already
created on the first day. He then breathed into the nostrils of
that which He had formed and instilled a spirit into the form and
man became a living soul.
b. Every element of the human body is the same as that which
makes up soil.
4. Even some of our own brethren foolishly contend each of the six
days of creation were long geological ages, not ordinary twentyfour hour days. In examining the Scripture we learn that the days
were divided into light and darkness.
Gen. 1:3-5, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God
saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the
darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
And the evening and the morning were the first day.”
a. Those who contend the six days of creation were long geological
ages attempt to prove their theory by pointing out that the sun
along with the other planets were not created until the fourth
day (Gen. 1:14-19). They assume from this that without the
sun there would not be any days. What they fail to take note
is that light was created at the beginning of the first day of
creation. God also divided light from darkness. He called the
light day and the darkness night (Gen. 1:3-5). The sun was
not the origin of light but was created to govern the day from
night, the times and season, and the years after creation.
Also, take note that plant life was created the day before the
sun was created. Vegetation, plants, and trees have to have
sun light to survive over an extended period of time. If those
had been long geological ages then vegetation would not have

access unto sun light for millions of years. It is futile for
anyone to attempt to harmonize evolution with the Bible.
5. All life was created to reproduce after its own kind. It was created
supernaturally, not by evolution.
III.
EVOLUTIONISTS HAVE BEEN DISHONEST BY “DOCTORING UP”
SOME SUPPOSED EVIDENCE OF EVOLUTION.
A. The so-called Piltdown man was a major hoax in which they
attempted to deceive.
1. In 1908, two road workers were digging in the gravel trench along a
road near the village of Piltdown in Sussex, England. They were
asked by amateur archeologist Charles Dawson to look out for any
unusual artifacts, including bones or fossils. After several days, the
workers discovered some coconut-like fragment in the gravel and
presented
their
findings
to
Dawson.
Upon
further
inspection, Dawson allegedly determined that the artifact was a
human skull. Additional fragments of bone were later found.
2. Men who claimed to be scientist determined that the skull and
jawbone fragments were from an ancient human ancestor, who
served as the missing link between ape and man. They believed the
Piltdown Man, as the bone fragments were later called, provided
evidence that man had actually evolved from the ancestors of
modern apes,
3. For approximately forty years these bones were considered the
archaeological find of the 20th century. From a fragment of a
jawbone and part of a skull it was claimed that it was proof man
evolved from the apes.
Those bones were presented as the
“missing link” between man and the lower species of life.
4. In 1953 a group of scientists, led by Kenneth Page Oakley,
attempted to use the new method of fluorine testing to get a more
exact date on the bones. What the test showed surprised them: The
jaw was modern and the skull only six hundred years old. Further
analysis using the fluorine tests revealed the jawbone was actually
that of an orangutan. It had been filed down and parts of it broken
off to make it appear to be more like that of a human. A process
was used on the bones to make them appear much older than they
actually were.
B. Changes within species do not prove the theory of evolution.
1. For example: dogs are of the wolf species. Specie is defined of
those within it that are able to crossbreed and produce fertile
offspring. This is often seen of a dog and wolf mating and having

offspring that is half dog and half wolf. This crossbreeding does not
happen between animals that are not of the same Specie.
2. Some evolutionists claim that mutations are how evolution took
place. That has not been proven; therefore it is only a theory.
Mutations happen very rarely; and nearly always harmful.
A
mutated offspring usually cannot reproduce offspring.
C. In the first chapter of Genesis we learn that each type of life
was able to reproduce after its kind.
IV.
IF EVOLUTION WAS TRUE THEN THERE WOULD BE A CONTINUAL
BUILDING UP OF THE UNIVERSE.
A. In reality the opposite is true. The physical universe is actually
running down.
1. This is referred to as: The Second Law of Thermodynamics.
