MY ASSESSMENT OF KEY FACTS
===================================
1. Richard and Susannah Adams were in Casey Co 1807-1819
2. James, 1st born son, likely reached age 21 1809-1810
giving him a birth year of 1788-89.
3. Pleasant married Ruth Sutherlund between 1808-1810,
although he reached age 21 in 1812 tax list,
giving him a birth date of 1790-91.
4. Susannah settled the sale of her 1/8 share inheritance
in 1811, at the same time Richard and Pleasant both
acquire Green River landfor the first time, suggests
this money may have helped.
5. James Adams in this tax list departed Casey Co by
1812. A James Adams is on the same 1812 War roster
as Pleasant's brother-in-law, Daniel Sutherland;
Capt Henry James 2nd Regiment, KY militia roster,
Sept 1812.
6. William reached age 21 in 1813, was living in same
area as Richard, based on militia district.
7. 1813 tax records include militia companies for only
year. Shows Richard on the Green River, but Pleasant
had moved to Knob Lick land in Capt. R. Geer company.
Richard and William are in the same Capt. A Riffe
company as Susannah's wealthy brother Benjamin
Dawson who owned prime Green River property.
8. Pleasant's 1813-1816 130 acres on Knob Lick was part
of his wife's Sutherland land which that family
sold in 1816. Daniel Sutherland and his mother Rebecca
left Casey Co for Logan Co, KY.
9. William is absent in 1816 but tax was assessed for his
horse. He may have already left for Missouri. in 1817
William is no longer in Casey Co.
10. Pleasant is gone by 1819 tax collection. He may have
left in 1818 since we do not have that tax book.
11. Benjamin reached age 21 between 1817-1819 (no 1818 list)
and married local girl, Nancy Snodgrass in 1818. This
would give Benjamin a birth date of 1796-98.
12. Entire Adams family is gone from Casey Co for 1820
tax list. This agrees with Lynchburg's account of
family migration to MO during winter 1819-20.
13. Benjamin Adams was back in Casey Co 1821, then gone.
His wife's father, Isaac Snodgrass had died in 1818
and final settlement was 1822. Benjamin & Pleasant
Adams both received payments from Isaac's estate.
