MAKING A FOSSIL LAB
DAY 2
Procedure:
1. Pick up your fossil from Day 1 from the cart.
2. Gently pull the shell out of the plaster and bring it to the
front counter.
3. Using a hand lens, observe your mold fossil and answer the
following questions.
a. Is this a body or trace fossil? Why?
b. What details of the shell can you see inside the mold?
c. Draw what your fossil looks like below.
