McCallum Knights Play Area Championship Playoff This Friday
The McCallum Knights will play the San Antonio Brennan Bears in the Area
Championship at 7:30 p.m. this Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Alamodome in
San Antonio. #Knightmare
We are encouraging all #MAC fans to travel to San Antonio to support the
Knights. For more details on admission, parking, team send off, fan caravans,

Reschedule: Paying For College Parent Meeting – 11/19
Due to the football playoff game last week, the Paying for College Parent
information night has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Nov 19th at 6:00 in the
cafeteria.

McCallum PTSA Grocery Card Program
Just a reminder that the deadline for Grocery Card orders is the 15th of every
month. Orders will be processed first thing the next morning, depending on what
day the 15th falls. This month, orders will be processed on Mon, November
18. This is a great way to help McCallum while shopping for all your grocery and
party needs. Forms can be found in the school office, on the PTSA website or
attached to this newsletter. Thank you for your support! (See attached form)
Knights of Steel Dessert Concert – 12/13
Save The Date: Friday, December 13 at 7:00 – Knights of Steel Dessert Concert. Join
us for great music and dessert on December 13 in the McCallum cafeteria. More
information coming soon.
Host Family Needed for German Exchange Student
A McCallum student from Germany needs a permanent home for the rest of the
school year. He is 16 years old and a sophomore. He loves soccer, French and
tennis. He has a good sense of humor and has no problem with animals or
chores. He has full medical insurance and personal spending money for
incidentals. He can share a room with a sibling within 5 years of his age. Please
let me know if you are available to open up your home for this fine, young man.
Currently family is a welcome family that really enjoys him, but has a graduating
senior requiring many upcoming out of town college trips and senior activities.

The MusicCares® and Grammy Foundation’s® Music Contest
Searching for young musicians to compose or create an original song and/or
music video that promotes and celebrates healthy living and/or appropriately
depicts a story about drug abuse. They are encouraging teens to submit their
powerful messages of struggle, hope and triumphant healing. Age
Requirement: 14-18 years old. Deadline: December 2, 2013. For more

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Parent Series - 11/19
For parents who are interested in opening and fostering peaceful channels of
communication with their children, AISD is sponsoring the SEL Parent Series
