BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
Please join us on Saturday, December 5th, for
Breakfast with Santa! There will be crafts for
the children to make, a Secret Santa Gift Shop
and of course…Santa himself! Tickets may be
purchased via order form on the back of the
flyer that was sent home or you can pick one up
in the office. Due to the popularity of this event, there will be
no ticket sales at the door. Space is limited, so all tickets must
be purchased in advance…while supplies last.
There will be two seating’s for breakfast…9:00 & 10:30.
Adults $8.00 / Youth 3-12 yrs. $5.00 / 2 & under “free”
The following donations are needed for Breakfast with Santa:
baked goods, gift bags & wrapped chocolates; there is a signup sheet on the table outside of the office.
Please bring your camera if you want a picture with Santa

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
Scholastic Book Fair will be open in the social hall from
9:00-10:00 on Monday, Dec. 7th – Wednesday, Dec. 9th
Book Fair will also be open during Breakfast with Santa
Please stop by to check out the many books that will be
on sale. They make great Christmas and Birthday gifts!

CHRISTMAS PRAYER SERVICE
The prayer service will be held in the main
church during class time (this is a regular
class day). Please take your child to their
classroom at their normal start time. We
encourage parents to meet us at the main
church for this short service. The children will be dismissed
from their classroom at their normal dismissal time.

CHRISTMAS PARTY & VISIT FROM SANTA
This is a regular class day and the children will have
the party in their classroom during class time.
Sign-ups for donations will be out the beginning of
December. Please have all party donations in by
Monday, Dec. 14th (cookies may be brought in
day of party). See below for your child’s party day.
Thursday, Dec. 17th – Miss Cathy’s T/TH & Miss Allison
Friday, Dec. 18th – Miss Cathy’s M/W/F & Miss Barb
MITTEN TREE
Every year at St. John’s School, we set-up a Christmas
tree in the school office for the children to decorate
with donations of new hats, mittens/gloves, scarves
or socks for the less fortunate in our area. This
project is completely voluntary. All donations will
be given to the Southern Community Services
located in Shrewsbury, which is a coalition of 30-35
churches in our area. Distribution will be through their services.
Please have all donations in by Friday, December 18th.
SNOW CLOSURES
Please post the following information about
our school closings.
In the event of inclement weather, it is
important to know what procedures we
follow.
We follow the SOUTHERN YORK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT for
delays and cancellations.
Under the York County heading, WGAL News 8 & FOX 43 will
specifically list St. John the Baptist Catholic School. If the
school district has a two hour delay, please continue to watch
because sometimes they then decide to close.
You will be notified through the following:
TV – WGAL News 8 & FOX 43
ONE CALL NOW – phone/email notification system
PRESCHOOL VOICE MAIL – any delays or cancellations will also
be posted on our voice mail (717) 235-3525 - extension 230 by
approximately 7:00 a.m.
PLEASE NOTE: If Southern York County School District is closed,
we are closed. If the school district has a two hour delay, we
will follow a “modified schedule” for the preschool classes.
Spirit Day @ Son’s of Sicily…always a favorite with our school and
staff; we hope you had a delicious meal. Our profit was $375.00
Spirit Night @ Seven Bar & Grille…there was quite a crowd there that
evening and we saw a lot of familiar faces. Thank you for coming out
and supporting our school…our profit was $221.00.
A SPECIAL THANKS to all of our preschool parents, grandparents,
relatives and friends for supporting our fundraisers and the
community local businesses. Thank you for everything you do for the
children and our school!

RAVENS/STEELERS GAME
The winning ticket for the Ravens/Steelers game on Sunday,
December 27th will be pulled during the Breakfast with
Santa on Saturday, December 5th. You do not need to
be present to win…someone from the Home & School
Association will contact you. GOOD LUCK!
School closes due to inclement weather, Little Angels
Learning Center will also be closed.
School has a two hour delay, Little Angels before care
will open at 9:00 am.
Early dismissal due to weather conditions, all children
must be picked up within 2 hours of dismissal (*) or be
subject to a late fee.
(*)For the safety of the children and staff, please be
considerate and arrive as soon as possible after dismissal.
Road conditions can deteriorate rapidly and become
increasingly hazardous.
