Program Description This workshop will present current knowledge about differential diagnosis between ASD and other conditions (e.g., ADHD, learning disorders, depression, anxiety disorders as well as intellectual disability and language disorders in younger children), as well as issues about comorbidity and treatment for complex cases. Speaker Dr. Lauren Turner-Brown, PhD, is the Assistant Director of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill TEACCH Autism Program and an Assistant Director in the Department of Psychiatry. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Vanderbilt University and completed postdoctoral clinical and research training at UNC- Chapel Hill with TEACCH and the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. She has extensive clinical and research experience with autism spectrum disorders across the lifespan. Her current research focuses on early identification of ASD and interventions for toddlers as well as adolescents and adults.
