Dear Son
[indented] Just a few lines in answer to your letter. Well Royce you said that you
was [sic] very dissappointed [sic] at not getting a letter from me. Well Royce I
wrote to you and sent you some money for Christmas and you did not say,
weather [sic] you had got it. Please let me know if you did not get it as I
Registered the letter so I don’t know how you did not get it. Well Royce I have
Been very Busy through the Christmas I have Been working All [?] and night, so
you can see I am Pretty tired. I hope you had a good Christmas, if has Been as
hot as Hell over here. Well Royce I suppose you was dissappointed [sic] at not
finding me [paper damaged here] St Kilda. I told you in my letter that [paper
damaged] Be going over. But never mind I might Be able to come over later on. I
was hoping you would be coming home for a while later on, it will Be a long time
to wait for 9 months. Well Son how are you getting on with work you don’t say if
you like it or not. Have you had a Photo taken yet I would like you to Have some
taken for me

I am always Hoping to get one in your letters. How does your Uniform look on.
Well Royce Every Body at home is well and wishes to Be Remembered to you.
Mick and Alice + Lill and Jim are well. we have not heard from Harry yet. Did I tell
you Lill was working at Holders [Holdens ?]. What did you think of St Kilda Some
Beach Eh what. I went to the Pictures on 3 times on Christmas Day. all the
Family was up here for dinner. what sort of Christmas Dinner did you have. Well
Royce I hope you are keeping well and looking after yourself and having a good
time. Have you Been to the zoo and gardens yet what do you think of the War
Memorial over there gives ours some licking don’t you think so. Uncle Bob +
Family are well and wish to Be Remembered to you. Well Son I think I have told
you all the news for the time so I will draw to a close wishing you a Happy New
Year and the Best of Luck.
