MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY’S REPORT
Considerable time has been expended in updating the Membership database, to make sure
that it accurately reflects members who are paying their subscriptions – and drives chasing
those who are not! I apologise to those members who I have had to contact by email/phone
to try and make sure we have the right details contained within the records – but the need to
be able to reconcile the statements with individuals’ details is fairly fundamental to this role.
Effort has also been expended in going through the more recent arrivals on the ‘lost
members’ list and trying to track them down to encourage them to update their details and
pay the current membership fees. The current membership situation as of 14th November
2016 is as follows:

In addition, there are 26 ‘lost’ members who continue to pay at the old subscription rate but
no longer receive any mailed correspondence and their payments are treated as donations to
the Society. There are also a number of applications for membership going through the
process of being brought on the books at present; an update on these will be provided at the
next Committee Meeting.
