Advertisement for the post of TA, JRF, SRF, and RA for the DBT Project
“Strengthening of Biotechnology Teaching, Training and Research in
Universities and Colleges in the Northeast India”
Technical Assistant (TA): 01
Educational Qualification: Candidate should be B.Sc. from a recognised University
with 50% marks in any branches of Life Science/Physical Science/ Chemical Science.
One year experience in any government R&D laboratory, University, Institute is
preferable.
Age: Candidate should not be more than 28 years of age on the last date of receiving
the application. Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidate
belonging SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically challenged applicants.
Emoluments: As per the DBT rule.
Appointment will be initially for a period of one year which may be extended
further depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent and co-terminus
with the project.
Junior research fellow (JRF): 02
Educational Qualification: Candidate must possess a M.Sc. in Microbiology/
Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/ Biophysics/Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Botany/ Life
Sciences/ MVSc/ M.Pharma from a recognised University with minimum 55% marks
in aggregate. NET/GATE qualified or candidates having some research experience
will be preferred.
Age: Candidate should not be more than 28 years of age on the last date of receiving
the application. Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates
belonging SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically challenged applicants.

Senior Research Fellowship (SRF): 01
Educational Qualification: Candidate must possess a M.Sc. in Microbiology/
Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/ Biophysics/Biotechnology/ Zoology/ Botany/ Life
Sciences/ MVSc/ M.Pharma from a recognised University with a minimum 55%
marks in aggregate and at least 2 years’ research experience after Post-Graduation ( to
be supported by certificate of experience).
Desirable Qualification: Publication in peer reviewed journal.
Age: Candidate should not be more than 32 years of age on the last date of receiving
application. Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidate
belonging SC/ST/OBC/Women and physically challenged applicants.

Research Associate (RAs): 01
Eligibility
Ph.D. degree in any discipline of Life Sciences, from a recognized University and has
published research work to their credit.
Age: Preferably below the age of 40 years. Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5
years in the case of candidates belonging SC/ST/OBC/Women, physically challenged,
and experienced candidates.
Desirable:-Research experience in Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Biochemistry/
Genetic Engineering/ Microbiology/ Immunology/ Bioinformatics and experience of
handling advance equipments like GC-MS/HPLC/DNA sequencer etc. Candidates
having publication in peer reviewed journals will be preferred.
Emoluments: As per the DBT rule.
Note:
The engagement for the projects is purely on temporary basis for the period of
duration of the project. It is not a Tezpur University appointment and will not confer
any right of the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit on any position.
No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate for attending the interview.
The decision of selection committee/ Tezpur University authority would be final and
binding in all aspects.
