Acknowledgment
It is an immense pleasure to us to have an opportunity to evaluate the project, which is
dedicated to reduce vulnerability of people with disabilities to natural hazards and enhance
the capacity of its partner organization to main stream disability into disaster management
plus build up capacity of its local partners to integrate disaster management into programs
for people with disabilities implemented by Handicap International, Nepal through its
project-DIPECHO, Nepal
The evaluation has been conducted as per the TOR provided by Social Welfare Council
(SWC). The evaluation team has tried its best to come up with relevant information, key
findings as well as appropriate suggestions/recommendation.
In the process of evaluation, our team is directly and indirectly supported by many helping
hands. First of all, we would like to thank Dr. Chhewang Namghel Lama Sherpa, Member
Secretary, Social Welfare Council for entrusting and offering the assignment to evaluate
the “Mainstreaming Disability in Disaster Management in Nepal (DIPECHO Project)
launched by Handicap International, Nepal.
Our special thanks go to Ms. Sangay Amina Bomjan, Programme Development Coordinator, HI Nepal for her personal and official input throughout the evaluation period.
We also thank Mr. Dulraj Chimoriya, DIPECHO Project Assistant of the very organization
for providing guidance and essential support during our field trip.
Likewise, we would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Ashok Bikram Jairu,
Director of NNSWA, Kanchanpur; Mr. Parmananda Kandel, President and Mr. Navraj

necessary supports concerned to our study.

focal points, staffs, drama teams, PwDs, youths, child clubs, stakeholders, community
workers, teachers, students, women groups, trainees, radio programmer of Apanga
Chautari in Kanchanpur, technician of rehabilitation and work-shops, members of Disabled
