Dear Families of graduating Little Leaguers-

As the Little League regular season comes to an end for 2007, I want to take a moment to write and tell you about an excellent opportunity for your rising thirteen year old to continue to develop and play competitive baseball: FCA Baseball!

The FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Baseball program fields teams in the Northern Virginia

Travel Baseball League’s (NVTBL) 13U, 14U, JV and Varsity divisions, playing teams from throughout the Northern Virg inia, DC, and Maryland Region. FCA Baseball’s mission is twofold: to develop ball players in their walk with the Lord; and to develop their baseball skills.

Some quick facts about FCA Baseball:

We will hold a total of four tryouts: August 4 & 8 and August 11 & 12. Times and fields will be announced shortly. We ask that you attend at least three of the tryout dates. If you are unable to attend due to vacation, all-stars, etc., but are interested in trying out for the team, please let me know. I will have a brief introductory meeting at the start of our August 4 th tryout. If you have any questions or wish additional information on the 13U program prior to tryouts, please feel free to contact me at 703-359-9444. You can also email me at ptoddburger@yahoo.com

The 2007-2008 FCA 13U Program will include the following:

Fall Season: focus on development and introduction to the 90’ baseball field. Professionalism will begin with proper dress, athletic discipline and mutual respect. Each practice will be structured in advance minute by minute. We will cover the entire game in an intense, hand on, educational format. Our goal is to build baseball skills and athletic values. We will have a limited game schedule, as the players learn how to play on the 90 foot diamond.

Winter Program: focus on individual skill development in small instructor lead clinics.

Spring/Summer Season: continued focus on individual and team skill development during structured practices. Full NVTBL game schedule consisting of 25-30 games, including various tournaments.

After our 2007-2008 13U Season it would be my intention to continue the development of the team in the 14U division of the NVTBL.

If you are interested in FCA Baseball, I ask that you please provide me with the following information:
