6th Symposium & master classes on Mucosal Immunology:
“Cells living on the edge”
Thursday 8 & Friday 9 October, 2015
vs. 151006
The Erasmus Postgraduate School Molecular Medicine has two main activities: the
organization of education for postgraduate students, and the stimulation of collaboration
between departments with a particular focus on translational research.
As a continuation of five prior very successful Symposia and workshops on Mucosal
Immunology, organised by the Erasmus Postgraduate School Molecular Medicine in 2004,
2006, 2008, 2011 and 2013, a 6th Symposium and workshops will be held in October 2015.
The committee has invited nationally and internationally leading scientists to give the
keynote lectures regarding mucosal cytokine responses and activation of innate and adaptive
immunity. In particular, we welcome:


On Thursday October 8th a symposium with plenary lectures will be held at the Erasmus MC.
Based on the previous symposia we expect up to 100 or more attendees from all over the
Netherlands and Belgium. On Friday October 9th workshops are held in which all attending
PhD candidates and post-docs are invited to present their own work. In these sessions, the
presented data will be discussed under the guidance of the keynote speakers and one staff
scientist from our research school.
A comprehensive reader consisting of recent papers on the Mucosal Immune System will be
issued before the start of the meeting.
