“The Theory and Practice of Nurture Groups”
3 Day Training Course
Children and young people with social, emotional and behaviour difficulties (SEBD) may struggle to access
learning. Nurture Groups are small groups of children or young people based in an educational setting staffed by
two supportive adults. They offer a focused, time-limited strategy which addresses barriers to learning arising
from SEBD.
This training is aimed at any professional who wishes to develop their understanding of Nurture Groups. It will be
of particular interest to members of staff who are setting up or running a Nurture Group or Learning Support
Centre. This training can contribute to The Nurture Group Network’s Quality Mark Award and further
optional study accredited by Edge Hill University.
Course Tutors
Training delivered by the Warwickshire Nurture Group Training Team who
have experience of primary and secondary groups.
Course 1
Dates: Thursday 15th January, Wednesday 28th January and Friday 13th February 2015, 9.00 – 4.00pm
Venue: 2nd Floor, Kings House, King Street, Bedworth, Warwickshire CV12 8LL
Course 1 - all bookings to be received by 9th January 2015
Course 2
Dates: Wednesday 15th April, Thursday 23rd April 2015 and Tuesday 19th May 2015, 9.00 – 4.00pm
Venue: North Leamington School, Sandy Lane, Blackdown, Leamington Spa, CV32 6RD
Course 2 - all bookings to be received by 23rd March 2015.
The cost for 3 day training is £525 per person. The accredited Nurture Group Network training materials which
cost £225 are included as well as a light lunch. There is the option of writing an accredited assignment along with
the opportunity for follow-up support.
