Note from John about Evening Adult Leagues.
No Shows: Due to busy unpredictable schedules it appears to be difficult for people to
make firm commitments to show-up for their scheduled play. Rather then beating a dead
horse we have changed our objective in regards to the league play.
The “Tuesday Early Bird” will run as always, we will post the court players
ahead of time and we expect them to all show, they rarely miss. Hats off to all of you.
The latter Tuesday and Thursday leagues will be posted as people show up.
We would also like to encourage players to show-up that are not scheduled to
play. We usually have open spots available for those players looking to play more tennis.
Anyone that shows up at the beginning of the time slot will be put on court for at least
part of the time, with one exception. No player scheduled to play will be taken off court
to allow a non schedule play court time.
My goal is to make sure the members of Port Perry Tennis Club have adequate
time to play tennis without having to arrange all their matches themselves. We need to
get more players to play more often with people of similar caliber. The easier we make it
for people to play, hopefully the more they will want to play.
Try not to worry about the court being pre-scheduled, concentrate on the
quality of the tennis you play that evening.
I will always step in to make a 4th or hit singles if need be.
