I.
Competition Overview
The “HITECH” International Non-professional Piano Competition was generated
to improve the music appreciation level of Chinese people and promote the
penetration and development of the piano art across the country and around the
world, and has been successfully held twice. It has evoked strong repercussions
among the wide piano enthusiasts as well as the field of culture at home and abroad.
The Competition not only provides the platform for display and communication of
non-professional piano players from all over the world, but also plays a positive role
in contributing to cultural development and prosperity in Tianjin.
As the influence of “HITECH” non-professional piano competition are constantly
being expanded, requirements on the Competition are also are much higher now.
How to make progress in the coverage, scale and promotion of the competition are
the issues that we need to make a significant breakthrough one by one. Relying on
the strong platform of Qinchuan Cultural Industries Group, Hebei Chuanyun Cultural
and Arts Co., Ltd., which determines to live up to the expectations of Tianjin Binhai
Hi-tech Industrial Development Area and Tianjin Hi-Tech Holding Group, will fully
integrate own advantageous resources and make full efforts to well serve the Third
Competition with professional attitudes and the well-trained team to ensure a
complete success of this competition.
II. Purposes of Competition

● To promote the exchange of world cultures, and display the new look of China;
●To provide an international stage for non-professional piano enthusiasts；
● To popularize the piano art in the entire society.

IV. Organizing Committee of Competition
The Competition shall be conducted under the leadership of the Organizing
Committee, which consists of leaders from both host organization and title sponsor.
The Office of Organizing Committee has Integrated Reception Team, Judges
Evaluation Team, Event Affairs Team, Publicity Promotion Team, Logistics Guarantee
Team, Security Team and others, which shall respectively undertake the
corresponding works and be responsible for the specific work of the Competition.
V. Rules of Competition
1. Qualification:

Open to applicants of all ages and nationalities
② Any person, who is capable of playing piano (including the persons who
have studied in music and art schools) but doesn’t take piano playing, teaching and
research as a career, is qualified to participate.
③ Students in music art schools and attached middle schools and primary

schools shall call for details as the Organizing Committee has defined additional
professional rules;
④ The participants, who have participated in the First and Second
Competitions, shall not play the same repertoire in this (Third) Competition again,
and will be disqualified after verification if the same repertoire is played.
2. Groups of participates according to the ages:
Group A of below 11 years old (including 11 years old) shall play for 4-7 minutes.
Group B of 12~16 years old shall play for 10-13 minutes.
Group C of 17~35 years old shall play for 10-12 minutes.
Group D of 36~54 years old shall play for 10-12 minutes.
Group E of above 55 years old (including 55 years old) shall play for 7-9 minutes.
Notes: the groups of participants shall be divided based on actual ages (for
example, from the participants entering 11 years old on August 3, 2015 to the
participants completing the 16th birthday on August 2, 2015) according to the starting
date of the Final Competition (August 3, 2015).
3. Repertoires of Competition:

Repertoires: to select two pieces from different periods of works in the
Baroque classical period, romantic period, modern and contemporary period,
Chinese musical works and play without piano scores. Any person, who is aged above
55 years old, can play with piano scores.
4. Awards:
First Prize: one for each group
Second Prize: three for each group
Third Prize: five for each group
Award of Excellence: several for each group
Award of Organization: several (for registration points in all cities)
Award of Excellent Instructor: several (for instructors of training institutions)
Notes:
In order to encourage the competition and expand the influence of the
competition, the total award of the competition is improved based on the level of the
previous competitions, and is expected to reach RMB 400,000 Yuan, in which RMB
20,000 Yuan is for each winner of first prize (Steinway piano), RMB 10,000 Yuan is for

each winner of second prize, RMB 5,000 Yuan is for each winner of third prize,
medals and souvenirs are for persons of award of excellence, RMB 2,000 Yuan is each
unit of award of organization and certificate of honor is for each excellent instructor.
5. Matters Related to Registration and Participation:
 Registration for Preliminary Round:
The registration deadline for the semi-finals is June 1, 2015 (postal marks shall
prevail). Please deliver airmails or express mails and remit RMB 350 Yuan or $ 50 by
TT or post.

Please submit the application form, proof of remittances, repertoires, two audio
files specially selected for the preliminary round (any one of videotape, DVD, VCD,
etc.) and other materials to the Organizing Committee before June 1, 2015. (Please
deliver airmails or express mails. The postal marks shall prevail.) Please do not put
into irrelevant materials.

Fill in the application form:
Attach the following materials along with the application form:
3 recent half-length photos (2-inch)
One photocopy of own identity card or passport
Resume: main working history or learning situations in schools (students) and
additional problems required for special statement.
Notes: it will be viewed as invalid in case of unclear application form or
incomplete delivery materials. The application materials will not be refunded, and
thus the participants shall do the backup for the application materials by themselves.
The Organizing Committee will not disclose any data of the materials of participants
to third part and are entitled to require the participants to supplement the materials.

 To determine the qualification for the final round:
The Organizing Committee shall take the responsibilities to inform all
participants for general information of primary round results, and notice the
participants that have been included in the final round for participation.
The participants shall arrive at the appointed locations of Organizing Committee
of Tianjin, China in person for check-in from August 1, 2015 to August 2, 2015.
 Registration for Final Round:
The registration deadline for the final round is July 31, 2015 (postal marks shall
prevail). Please deliver airmails or express mails and remit RMB 840 Yuan or $ 120 by
TT or post.

*The Organizing Committee of the Competition shall have the final interpretation
right on relevant matters of the Competition.
*The final prize results of the Competition shall be jointed decided by the Evaluating
Committee of the Competition in a fair and just manner under the supervision of
notary office and shall not involve the personal behaviors of judges.
