Rock Cycle Children’s Book Due Friday, February 1st Purpose: You are the author of a children’s first science book that explains how rocks are formed. Materials: Lots of paper, colored pencils, your text book, notes and creative energy. Procedure: Think like a Child! You are a rock traveling through the rock cycle. Write a book of at least eight (8) pages that explains the Rock Cycle process on a young reader’s level. Include a colored illustration on each page. Start by identifying your “Rock Character” and where in the Rock Cycle the character will begin. Include one fact about the Rock Cycle on each page. Be creative, anything interactive will enhance your project. Suggestions for Success: This is a shared project with Language Arts & Science and your chance to start the quarter with a solid A! Hand drawn pictures, an introduction, a forward and/or an about the author page are great ideas that will add creative points to your rubric score which is explained below.
