Professional Awards 2015 Promising Professional Award Nomination Form Introduction This individual award recognises the exceptional achievements of a CIEEM member during the early stages of their career (only Graduate, Associate and Qualifying membership grades are eligible). The winner will have demonstrated above-average competence and a strong commitment to their professional development. This can be demonstrated through their achievements, knowledge, skills, leadership, passion and commitment, and inspiration for others in the field of ecology and environmental management. Criteria and Eligibility Nominees will be assessed against the following five professional qualities and attributes: 1. Knowledge and Skills 2. Communication 1 Demonstrates: Effective application of knowledge and skills above the expected level for the grade of employment An ability to put knowledge and skills into practice The ability to take responsibility for personal development The ability to be a self-starter and use initiative That knowledge has increased over time Demonstrates the ability to: Successfully communicate ideas and complex messages Share knowledge and experience with others Communicate with a range of audiences Communicate effectively through a variety of media (i.e. articles, presentations, reports etc.) Seek, and respond to feedback 3. Leadership and Team Working 4. Making Decisions and Problem-Solving 5. Personal Achievements Demonstrates the ability to: Build and sustain productive working relationships Successfully influence others Inspire and motivate others Meet the goals and vision of their organisation/project Take ownership/responsibility Demonstrates the ability to: Act decisively Use knowledge and skills to inform decisions Use innovative/creative approaches Challenge and investigate Manage the expectations of others Demonstrates the ability to: Take responsibility and deliver results (on time and in budget) Show initiative and enthusiasm ‘Go the extra mile’ and exceed expectations Be flexible and adaptable Self-manage and perform well under pressure This award is open only to Graduate, Associate and Affiliate members of the Institute.
