Erosion, Weathering & Deposition Timeline: 1 Week Weathering describes the break down of rocks. Erosion and deposition describe the movement of sediments. Gravity can act directly or indirectly (through the agents of wind, water and glaciers) and are the major forces that change the Earth’s surface. In this group project you will present your basic research on the following topic sentence in the form of a Prezi. Topic Sentence: Erosion, weathering and deposition, acting through wind, water and gravity, are the major forces which change the Earth’s surface. Objectives: Explain the difference between erosion and deposition. Define erosion, deposition and weathering (include chemical and mechanical definitions) Describe the process of erosion as it occurs primarily through the effects of gravity and mass movement. Demonstrate how water, wind and glaciers affect the rate of erosion and deposition. Propose solutions to the problems commonly caused by the different erosion types.
