The Department of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine
(WUSM) in St Louis is inviting applications for a full-time Assistant Director of the Clinical and
Molecular Cytogenetics Laboratory.
The Lab: Our lab is a rapidly expanding, full service state-of-the art facility with twenty very bright
and experienced technologists. The lab is equipped with modern imaging stations, laboratory
information system, Chromosomal microarray facility and automated metaphase scanner.

academic selectivity. Eighteen Nobel laureates have trained, taught, or carried out research here.
Thirteen faculty members are fellows of the prestigious National Academy of Sciences; 24 belong

The Candidate: We are looking for a highly motivated colleague who will participate in a busy
and actively expanding diagnostic laboratory service, which includes a full service Cytogenetics
facility offering prenatal testing, routine constitutional blood and tissue studies, bone marrow and
solid tumor cytogenetics, and FISH, as well as Chromosomal Microarrays (CMA).
Duties will include reviewing and signing-out cytogenetic and CMA cases, new test development,
troubleshooting technical problems, teaching fellows, residents and medical students and staff
training.
The successful candidate must be American Board of Medical Genetics certified, or eligible, in
Clinical Cytogenetics and preferably also in Clinical Molecular Genetics. The candidate must
have excellent administrative skills, an interest in participating in strong teaching programs as
well as an interest in participating in clinical or translational research.
