On behalf of NASMDA I would like to invite you all to attend our
18th annual meeting at Turf Valley Resort and Spa, from Oct 7th to
Oct 10th, 2010 located in the Baltimore area. Your executive
committee is planning a fabulous meeting, so make sure you do not
miss it. Meeting registration forms are attached.
The meeting kicks off with evening reception starting at 7:00 PM on
Thursday Oct 7th at Alexandra’s Restaurant located on the property. We
will use the restaurant menu for food since arrival times vary for the
attendees. This will ensure fresh hot dinner for late arrivals too. On
Friday executive committee meeting will be held at 7:30 AM followed
by general membership meeting at 9:00 AM. Once again we plan to
have an excellent CME program under the direction of Mandeep
Dhalla and Amarjit Singh. CME seminars will be held on Friday and
Saturday mornings. Our own multi talented and melodious, Amarjit
Nijjher will be hosting the Friday night cultural program after the
dinner banquet. Saturday night will be the formal banquet. Sikh interest
groups will be giving presentations in the afternoons. Golf tournament
will be held on Sunday morning. Site seeing trips and afternoon sports
activities are also available based on demand.

availability and quoted rates, it is mandatory that reservations are made
no later than Cut-Off Date of 9/7/2010. Please identify yourself being
with the NASMDA group to get the guest room rate. One bedroom
suites, junior suites and regular rooms are $139.00, plus Tax, per night.
One bedroom and junior suites are superb accommodations but are on
first come basis, so make your reservations early as these will sell out
fast. Please reserve with our group name as we have guaranteed
minimum room numbers to host the meeting in their conference
ballrooms.
We have made attracting young Sikh physicians/dentists the major
focus of this year’s meeting. We are offering travel assistance for
medical students and residents/fellows to attend the meeting. The
assistance application form is attached.
I would like to quote the goals of NASMDA from our bylaws:

1. To promote the interest of Sikh physicians and dentists who reside in United States, Canada and
Elsewhere.
2 . To support Sikh Physicians and Dentists, as well as other brilliant and deserving Sikh professionals
Pursuing their careers in those fields or any other fields.
3. To foster long-term associations and friendships among Sikh physicians and dentists, and to promote
Medical and dental institutions and improve the delivery of service in the above fields in their homeland.
4. To arrange for annual meetings of its members to exchange information, discuss policies, establish
Future course of action, and from time to time consider making amendments to the constitution. The
Organization hold elections for the office bearers and consider other appropriate business at such meetings.
5. The organization will make efforts to have educational programs during these annual meetings presented
By the members of the organization or its guests.
6.The organization will help medical and dental graduates to establish practices in different parts of the
Country as well as help them to obtain adequate postgraduate training in their fields of their choices.
NASMDA members have tired to implement some of these goals with varying levels of success.
Please get involved and lets implement as many of these goals as we can. If there is a project that you feel you
can start or contribute to, do not hesitate do get in touch with your executive committee. It is your association
and where you take it is up to you.

Lets have a great 2010. I look forward to a fabulous meeting in Baltimore. I am hopeful the younger Sikh
physicians/dentists take advantage of the travel assistance and come to the meeting to make many new
friends. Lets get the word out for your own organization.

to implement these ideas as well as suggestions from all the members.
