Biography: Charles Payson Gurley Scott, 1853-1936 was a professor of Anglo-Saxon at Columbia
University between the years 1879-1888. His collection of etymological terms was meant to be
used in a dictionary of American English etymology that was never actually compiled.
Summary: Approximately 120,000 card files on the etymology of various words.
