Development of the task: (Learning outcome)
 To develop an awareness and understanding of river system, coastal pattern, biotic
and abiotic interactions and hydrological process at work in the environment.
 To communicate knowledge and understanding of preservation of biodiversity.
 Connect sustainable development in real life situations
TASK DESCRIPTIONStudents will be in groups of 4 for this assessment and develop a research proposal
that includes the following:
Students will be in groups of 4 for this assessment and devise a 3D Model that includes the
following:
1. The students will create a 3D Model of a river system, coastal pattern, biotic and abiotic

interaction, hydrological process, (one each group)
2. The 3D Model should also demonstrate how to preserve the biodiversity of the area.
3. The 3D Model will be exhibited and explain the processes of the model.
4. The students must devise a plan for sustainable development of the area.
5. The students must prepare a “Process Journal” (learning log book) using the design
cycle. A process journal is where the students log the development of their project. It
also includes documentation (such as pictures) and evidence of students’ collaboration
while preparing the task. Reflection of every student should also be included.
6. Each student must provide a minimum 400 word processed explaining student
understanding about the 3D Model.
7. Students are encouraged to use a range of sources to complete your project or an
expert who may be able to help in the project.
8. You must document your evidence. To document is to credit sources of information
used by referencing according to MLA principles. References should be included in the
text and also at the end of the piece of work in a bibliography. This must be included in
the process journal.
