Invitation ‘Growing, Nurturing & Harvesting Wound Care’ We are pleased to announce the call for abstracts for the 2012 AWMA (NSW) Inc. Biennial Branch Conference to be held in the Mercure Resort Hunter Valley Gardens, Cessnock, 11th -12th November 2012. The conference theme, Growing, Nurturing and Harvesting Wound Care in the Vines will be your chance to network with a group of health care professionals in an environment that will stimulate new growth in wound care knowledge. Be motivated by your colleagues wound management presentations, success stories and shared enthusiasm of making a difference for people living with wounds. The AWMA (NSW) Inc. Program Committee aims to cater for the learning needs of health care professionals in acute care facilities, community based settings and outpatient services. Research methodologies, education innovation and their implementation feature strongly in the program. Current best practice initiatives will be discussed and include the challenges faced in meeting health care budgets while supporting patient and family centred care and healing outcome. A combination of plenary, concurrent and poster presentations will be included in the two day program. We look forward with anticipation to your abstract submission and the opportunity for you to share with us during concurrent sessions or in the poster hall of this conference. All abstracts must be thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar before submission. Abstracts must include a title, author names, and author affiliations. The presenting author must be indicated with an asterisk. Abstracts can only be submitted online in Microsoft Word format only. You must save the document with the extension ".doc" or ".docx" (Word default). All submissions must be accompanied by an 80 word biographical paragraph of the presenting author. This information will be used by the session chair for introduction purposes or may also be published in meeting literature. Please note that selecting your presentation type (oral, poster or either) is a preference only. The decision of acceptance of abstracts is at the discretion of the AWMA (NSW) inc. program committee. Although authors must indicate their preferred form of communication (oral or poster) the type of presentation offered is the decision of the scientific program committee. Selection criteria will include: Originality and interest Potential for significance for the field Adds to the current state of knowledge Abstract structure and clarity Registration Please note that all presenters must register for the meeting by 30th October 2012. Registration not received by this date will result in presenters being withdrawn from the program. Successful abstracts will published and distributed electronically to all delegates at the conference. Please note: the program committee cannot guarantee that the presentation type of choice will be granted to authors. The decision of the program committee is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Certificate of Merit All accepted oral and poster presenters accepted will be awarded a Certificate of Merit to acknowledge their contribution to AWMA NSW 2012. Copyright Regulations All authors will be asked to sign a transfer of copyright agreement upon acceptance and consent to AWMA (NSW) Inc. 2012 Conference making their paper/s available to conference delegates via the conference website or hard/soft copy proceedings. Papers will not be accepted into the program without signed acknowledgement of the copyright regulations. Authors are to ensure that any images or text used in the paper have copyright clearance.
