Coleman Jones, Biofuel Implementation Manager for General Motors in
North America. He supports GM engineering and public policy worldwide
on fuel issues. Dr. Jones’s talk will focus on the impact of federal fuel
regulations on the properties, manufacturing processes, costs, and
interaction of bio and petroleum fuels with vehicles.
Dr. Jones is also chair of the ASTM Gasoline and oxygenated fuels
subcommittee and the Ethanol Fuel Blends and M85 task groups. Dr. Jones
has been manager of fuels and lubricants for GM Powertrain. His group
was responsible for current product support for fuels, engine oils, and
transmissions fluids for General Motors.
After completing his degrees in chemical engineering and materials science, his first GM positions were at
the GM Powertrain Advanced Materials Development Center in Saginaw, working on process and material
development of squeeze cast metal matrix composites
