PROCEDURE:
Installing workhead lift cylinder guards:
1. Using the 314192 transparent guard as a template, position the guard against the
machine frame as shown (Figures 1 & 2) and mark the hole locations to be drilled.
NOTE: it may be necessary to adjust the position of hydraulic and/or air hoses to
position the guard against the frame.
2. Center punch the hole locations and drill through the outer wall with a #7 tap drill (12
places, each side). Tap the holes using a ¼”-20 tap.
3. Install the transparent guard with the provided hex flange screws (491553) and fender
washers (491535). Torque the screws to 6-9 ft/lbs being careful not to bind or buckle
the guard during assembly.
NOTE: These transparent guards need to be kept clean. Wash daily with soapy water
or window cleaner and dry with a soft cloth. Replace guard if stained, scratched or
broken.
NOTE: Ensure that the workhead lift cylinders are oriented so that the cylinder ports
are facing towards the outside of the machine, away from the operators station.
Follow valve guard procedure starting on page 4 & 5.
