Other requirements for incoming exchange
students
The program takes place every semester and offers 6 different language levels
from beginner to advance. Every 3 credits course in oral communication takes
place during 2 weeks (Monday to Friday - AM). After finishing your two weeks,
you can go up to the next level. Some written communication courses are also
intensive and last 4 weeks (Monday to Friday - PM). A French placement test
determines your proficiency and courses options (12 to 21 credits). With the
exception of other languages courses, beginner and intermediate level students
cannot enroll in regular classes due to scheduling conflicts. If you choose this
program, you need to be aware that according to the results of your French test,
you may start a few weeks after regular students or finish a few weeks before.
Unfortunately, housing leases are not adjusted to this program (minimum 4
months).
French proficiency
Students need to have an excellent French Proficiency unless they take courses
in our French as a Second Language program or in our B.A. in English and
Intercultural Studies. They can contact us at any time to take our French
placement test and see if they meet our requirements. The score to the test
should be added to the application documents.
