Chief Executive
NHS Blood and Transplant is vitally important to the NHS as the sole provider of blood
to the NHS across England and North Wales and organs for transplant across the UK.
With a workforce of over 6,000 staff across 94 sites, 1.24 million active blood donors
and 20 million people on the organ donor register, we provide a 24/7 service with a
public presence in more than 100 towns and villages across the country every day.

Executive, the Board is determined to maintain momentum and to continue to bring

We are seeking an exceptional individual to take on what is possibly the most exciting
leadership role in the NHS and a chance to play a key role in the development of next
generation healthcare.
The Role

Work with the Board of NHSBT, providing strategic direction and leadership to
shape our vision and deliver our ambition to be the best organisation of our type
in the world.

Drive change across the organisation delivering cultural and transformational
service change with a relentless focus on improving our offering to patients and
donors.

Communicate, influence and challenge at the highest levels, managing national
and international stakeholder relationships, and working to deliver the
aspirations of the UK Government and the Devolved Administrations.
The Candidate

Credible and innovative leader with a track-record of strategic success at board
level within a large scale and politically complex public or commercial
environment.

Considerable experience of delivering transformational change raising
organisational performance and improving the quality of service.

Exceptional communication and influencing skills, combined with the personal
resilience, integrity and commitment to the values and objectives of the
organisation.
